Any entity providing a guarding and security service must be registered as a provider of security services with PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority) and meet applicable criteria.

South African National Security Employer's Association
Members of the Association carry its distinctive logo and users of security should be on the lookout for it, as a sure sign of quality service. The Association is the only recognized body representing the employers in the guarding industry. At present, SANSEA is the voice of the guarding industry and is represented on a national basis in all the provinces of South Africa.
National Contract Cleaners' Association
It's mission is to provide leadership to the industry by striving to create a professional environment through facilitating and co-ordinating industry activities, by providing quality services, maintaining a national platform and influencing the environment to achieve the desired benefits for its members and the community as a whole.

Services Sector Education and Training Authorities have been established to ensure that the skill needs for every sector of the South African economy are identified and that training is available to provide for these skill needs. Services SETA aims to provide comprehensive information regarding the Authority, its structure and its functions.
South African Intruder Detection Services Association
An association of service providers of security systems, ranging from basic alarms to sophisticated electronic intruder detection systems and CCTV, and incorporating signal monitoring as well as the provision of armed reaction services.
